Nice compact unit that fits well under my desk so I can justify the long hours I waste online. It’s replaced my footstool and I find myself pedaling subconsciously - probably a good thing. My only wish is that it had more tension, as it seems to go quite freely no matter where I set the tension wheel.

This little exerciser fits right under my desk, and when it’s on its mat, it does not move around on the floor (wood) at all. The noise level is pretty quiet–just a low-level ssssss, but I work at home, so I’m not sure how it would play in a cubicle setting. It was easy to assemble.

I, too, found that the tension setting doesn’t make much of a difference, although it got a little tighter with more turns that I would have thought necessary. But sitting here pedaling away for a half hour felt like it lasted about a minute as I surfed and worked and allegedly–according to the calorie counter–burned about 250 calories. I did break a sweat in my air-conditioned livingroom. I expect to find myself pedaling off and on all day without even thinking about it, and I don’t have to leave my work and carve out a half hour or an hour to get in a bit of daily exercise. That leaves me all the more time for my kids and family time when everyone gets home from school and work.

The pedals can be a tad slippery, but I pedal barefooted and maintain traction that way. Your desk, of course, needs to have clearance for your knees, although it is possible to turn a little sideways and pedal just off to the side of your desk while still being online or doing other work. Also, you can pedal with your hands to get a bit of an aerobic and upper-body workout in. That precludes surfing or typing, so get something good to read in front of you!

Overall, exactly what I wanted and what I hoped it would be, tension notwithstanding.

Like this little bike a lot. It’s sturdy and lightweight. Able to fit under a desk. Does not move around when riding on it. The tension knob does not really increase the tension to much but, its enough to impact your workout.

The Sunny Health & Fitness Mini Cycle is even better quality then what I expected for the price! It is VERY sturdy and does not slide on the floor or table. For ëmpty nesters” who are trying to downsize but still want some sort of exercise equipment for those rainy or inclement days–this is great. It stores in a closet very easily. I am handicapped and I am able to sit in a comfortable position, infront of the TV and exercise my leg muscles, yet pick this up and put it on a table for upper body strengthening. TERRIFIC BUY!

The calorie counter seemed like a great feature, but all it does is increment by a fixed number of calories per rotation, no matter how you set the resistance. As if that weren’t bogus enough, the number it increments by is something like 0.3, so pedaling only once per second, you would get an absurdly high figure of 600 calories in a half hour. The “computer” is worthless.

Next, let’s talk about the build quality. Looks good in the photo, right? I can assure you the housing is made of the cheapest plastic. Ours arrived with a corner chipped out of it. Sure, it was poorly packed, but the box was in good condition, so it clearly had not been bashed around too much. Finally, it arrived without several bolts required for final assembly.

At least the vendor processed the return promptly and without fuss. Since I’m still out return postage, I’ll call that my gym fee for the season and just do laps up and down the stairs at commercial breaks until the winter weather blows over.
